What is the Pre-K Lottery selection process?
Because spots in our Pre-K program are limited, admission is decided by lottery to keep the process fair for every family. (For background on how lotteries work, see What is the Lottery?)
Here's how it works:
Every Pre-K application submitted during the open application window is entered into a name-blind lottery, meaning selections are made at random with no preference given to any individual applicant. Once the window closes, the lottery is drawn and families are notified of their results by email and text.
If your child is selected, you'll receive an offer with instructions for accepting the spot and completing enrollment. If your child isn't selected, you'll be placed on the wait list and can track your position in your SchoolMint account.
Be sure to check the current Pre-K application dates and notification timeline on our admissions page, as they vary each year.
