What are the Lottery Preferences?

Preferences in the lottery are given to Uplift staff, siblings of current scholars, and certain zip codes at the same school if the application is received before the lottery deadline but does not guarantee enrollment.

  • Sibling Preference – Currently enrolled student
    • An applicant who has a sibling currently attending an Uplift School must still apply to the school.
    • The applying child will receive preference in the lottery due to the enrolled sibling but is not guaranteed admittance.
    • The preference will only apply to the same school the sibling attends.
    • The sibling status will be verified, prior to the lottery, via school records.
    • The currently attending sibling must be enrolled at the time of the lottery
  • Sibling Preference – New applicant
    • New applicant siblings will receive a preference if one family sibling is admitted in the lottery
    • The preference is only at the school of admittance of the first admitted sibling
    • The preference is ONLY administered after the registration is completed
    • Offers are based on open seats.
  • Lottery Preferences Continued: Zip Code Preference
    • The following zip codes surrounding each school receive preference in the lottery.
    • Anyone within the geographical boundaries may apply, but those within the zip codes listed below will receive preference for that Uplift School.
