What are the admission requirements for an Uplift School?

Good news: getting into Uplift is simple, and there are no academic hurdles.

There are no admission exams, interviews, or academic requirements to attend an Uplift school. We have no tuition, no admission requirements, and we serve students of all learning levels. Admission is determined entirely by a name-blind, automated lottery whenever a school receives more applications than it has open seats.

A few things to know:

Who can apply. Uplift schools are free and open to all students residing within the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex. The geographic boundaries are established in Uplift's charter and cover communities across the DFW area. Students must be at least 3½ or 4 (for Pre-K), or 5 years of age (for Kinder) on or by September 1.

What the application asks for. The application only requires basic information: parent or guardian names, contact information, the student's name, date of birth, and the grade they're applying for. It takes about five minutes. Texas state law prohibits us from asking about immigration status.

After an offer is made. For grades 3 through 12, you'll be asked to submit report cards or transcripts as part of registration once a spot is offered. This is for placement, not admission. Uplift also has the right to verify eligibility data such as date of birth and residency, and admission may be revoked if incorrect information is provided.

Note: Uplift Pre-K is a free, state-funded program, so students offered a Pre-K spot must also meet state eligibility requirements
