The Waitlist Explained
A waitlist is created when a school receives more applications for a grade than it has seats.
- If a spot becomes available, students are admitted from the waitlist in order.
- Applications received before the February 1 deadline and not drawn in the lottery are placed on the waitlist by their randomly assigned lottery number.
- Applications received after the deadline are placed on the waitlist in the order received.
- Our waitlists move quickly, so if your child isn't selected in the lottery, please stand by.
How will I know my waitlist position?
A few weeks after the initial lottery notification, you'll be able to see your waitlist position in your SchoolMint account. Families are notified once a spot becomes available; there is no fixed schedule for when openings occur.
