Road to College & Careers General
Uplift's Road to College & Career (RTCC) program prepares scholars for life after high school and supports them through college and into a career. The program spans grades six through sixteen, meaning it starts in middle school and continues well beyond high school graduation, all the way through
RTCC works in three connected stages: we prepare scholars to go to college, help them pursue the right-fit college, and support them as they persist through college in order to graduate, with the goal of completing college within six years. Along the way, scholars benefit from early college exposure through college trips, holistic college readiness built through community engagement and internships, and ongoing counseling support for alumni, scholars, and families.
College isn't the only path. For scholars where college may not be the right fit, RTCC provides career guidance and other support to help alumni move into successful career options.
The results speak for themselves: 100% of Uplift graduates have been accepted to college for the last 20 years, 78% are the first in their families to attend college, and 55% of alumni earn a college degree within six years, which is four times the national average for similar peers. Uplift has also established post-secondary career pathways in healthcare and technology.
